Over the month of March, Alpari clients from Russia and the CIS traded 140.2 billion USD in volume. This is the highest mark at our company since its founding in 1998.
The currency pair with the biggest rise in trading volume from February to March was EURUSD – trading on the pair was up 8.8 billion USD, or 12%. Trading on GBPUSD is also on the rise, up 7.7 billion USD from the previous month, or 41%. The number of accounts open at Alpari also continues to grow. By the end of March, this number was nearing 800,000.
March was the third record-breaking month in a row for Alpari. Alpari’s trading volume in Russia and the CIS reached a record high of 110 billion USD in January, followed by 132 billion USD in February and 140 billion USD in March. So, Alpari’s trading volume over the first quarter of 2013 was 382 billion USD, up 43% from the previous year.
