Dear Clients,
On June 24, 2014, the conference center of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) hosted a round table discussion organized by the Kommersant publishing house to discuss "Deoffshorization of Business in Russia", a pressing theme in the domestic Russian economy.
The influential business journal invited a number of participants including Alexander Razuvaev, Director of the Analytical Department at Alpari, Alexander Shokhin, President of the RSPP, Sergey Belyakov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Igor Nikolaev, Director of the FBK Strategic Analysis Institute, Anton Danilov-Danilyan and Boris Nuraliev, Head of 1C. The participants recognized the importance of the work by the Ministry of Finance, together with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, to add corrections to the Tax Code on the taxation of profit of foreign owned companies, and also the revenue of foreign organizations.
Particular emphasis was put on improving the mechanism of recognizing companies which are controlled by foreign organizations. The participants agreed that business regulations in this sphere must be phased in as the administration needs to work out questions on optimizing the tax level for foreign companies controlled by Russian capital. According to Alexander Razuvaev, amendments to the law must be carefully assessed as the attitude of the business community towards it continues to be apprehensive.
Best Regards,
Alpari
