Alpari Corporate Communications Director Valeriy Tarasov was recently asked to serve on the FCSM (the Federal Commission for the Securities Market of Russia) Expert Committee on Significant Market Divergence. The committee was created to come up with measures to counteract manipulation in the Russian financial markets.
The committee’s main goal is to come to a general consensus as to what constitutes a significant divergence from the market with regards to price levels, supply and demand and trading activity in situations where it’s not possible to evaluate the relevance of an event based on objective criteria. "This basically marks the first time we’ve seen this institution in the Russian financial markets: of leaving decision-making to the professional community. This advisory body created by the FCSM should, to a certain extent, play a meaningful role in the development of this institution," explained Valeriy Tarasov.
Alpari actively supports the civilized development of the Russian financial system and has long been an advocate for increasing the level of transparency in the markets. Alpari was also one of the key players in the formation of Russian self-regulatory organization CRFIN (the Center for Regulating OTC Financial Instruments and Technologies).
