Alpari has just signed a sponsorship deal with the New Jersey Nets of the National Basketball Association for 2011-12. This deal isn't Alpari's first foray into the world of sports. In 2011, Alpari US was an official sponsor of the New York Knicks (of the NBA), the New York Rangers (of the National Hockey League) and the legendary Madison Square Garden. In the same year, Alpari US also backed PGA golfer Roland Thatcher.
With the new agreement, Alpari will be a premium sponsor at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, home of the Nets. The Alpari logo will be featured courtside, on the baselines, on LED signage, on the padding underneath the basket and on the Nets' official website and social media outlets.
Daniel Skowronski, CEO of Alpari US, commented, “We are thrilled about our first season with Nets Basketball. It is a very exciting time to be a part of the Nets as they play their final season in Newark’s Prudential Center and prepare to transition to Brooklyn." Alpari plans on renewing its sponsorship of the Nets through 2012-13, after the Nets move to the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, New York.
"We are glad to support sporting initiatives like this. Success in business, much like in sports, results from acquiring skills and turning them into experience and professionalism," added Valeriy Tarasov, Public Relations Director at Alpari RU.
