The Excellence Awards honor the most outstanding achievements in public relations in Europe and are organized by Communication Director, a leading European magazine for corporate communications and public relations. Awards are given in fifty-eight categories and are determined by a jury of thirty PR experts. The Excellence Awards were first offered in 2007 and received over 1,250 entries the first year. The 2009 Awards Ceremony took place in the Hofburg imperial palace in Vienna and this year's ceremony was held at the Zofin Palace in Prague.
