Marina from Archangelsk made it to 8th place in our Virtual Reality contest. If you have any doubts about the significance of this fact, the following will set you straight:
Marina kindly agreed to respond to a few of our questions and let us know why women should take up internet trading:
Is Forex a job for you or a means to make extra money?
Neither. Forex is a bit of an addiction for me. I don't plan on quitting since it is so interesting to keep up-to-date with the news and to analyse information and graphs of the different quotes. Your brain needs to be in top shape!
What do you do in life? Tell us a little about yourself.
I'm a multi-skilled freelancer with two separate degrees. The first diploma is in Economic Cybernetics and the second is in Finance and Credit. I trade a little on the stock market, I give financial consultations and I have a blog dedicated to computerised embroidery. I have 3 grown-up (and married) sons, two granddaughters and two grandsons.
When did you start trading?
I got into trading back in the 20th century and opened my first account with Alpari in 2003.
Do you have some sort of strategy that you trade by in the contests?
No, none whatsoever.
Do you think that it's worth treating a demo account differently to a live account?
Of course it is! On a live account you need to be more responsible and disciplined. And that's not always so easy.
Can you comment a little on the stereotype that the world of finance is a man's place? For example, how does that not ring true for you?
It is completely untrue! Almost every family budget is controlled by the woman of the house, so why can't she try finance on the markets?
Indeed, the main thing is to give it a go! Each month tens of traders reach financial success in Alpari's contests!
